Growing up as a little girl I always pictured myself joining a sorority someday. However, I would have never imagine the massive impact that it would have on me. As cheesy as it sounds, joining Alpha Phi is truly more than a membership for four years, it's for life. I have met some of my lifelong best friends, most admired role models, inspirational leaders and scholars, and my future bridesmaids through Alpha Phi. In the past three years I have become the best version of myself because of this chapter, and I wish the same experience for everyone.
Empowered women empower women, and I feel stronger, smarter and more authentically myself than when surrounded by my sisters of Alpha Phi. I am incredibly thankful for all of the coffee dates, late night study sessions, and adventures around Chicago and the world that I have shared with them, and I cannot wait for all of our future fun to come. In joining Alpha Phi I became apart of something bigger than just myself, or even the DePaul community; I joined nearly 200,000 women around the world who share so many connections and empower each other every single day, and I am incredibly proud to be apart of that.
I know that I would not be in the position I am today if it wasn't for the genuine love, support, and empowerment that I have been blessed with by my sisters. They are the people I can always count on to have my back, they are who I most look forward to reuniting with after long school breaks, and they are my home away from home. I love these women, and I am extremely honored for the opportunity to lead forward the Iota Eta chapter of Alpha Phi this coming year.
